Over the last year and a half the Brisbane Clown Cabaret has become a fixture on the comedy scene in Brisbane. Sold out shows, unique performers showcasing clown, new vaudeville, eccentric circus and theatrical odditiy. Now it’s Wynnum’s turn! Presented as part of the vibrant Wynnum Fringe Festival, the inaugural Brisbane Clown Festival brings together a dazzling lineup of Brisbane’s best clowns for a jam-packed program of laughter and play over three days.
The Festival is held at 166 Bay Terrace in Wynnum (Brisbane), Queensland.

Through humour, physical comedy, and theatrical fun, we aim to inspire connection, imagination, and a lasting love of the arts for audiences of all ages.
Over the last thirty years, Andrew Cory has worked in Australia and Asia as an actor, a movement director and clown. He has worked with The Queensland Ballet, Queensland Theatre Company, La Boite Theatre Company, The Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Opera Queensland, Queensland Music Festival and The South Australia State Theatre Company. Andrew studied at Ecole Philip Gaulier (London), Centre Selavy Mask School (France), Todo Performance Academy (Denmark), the School for Mime Theatre (USA) and Bont’s International Clown School (Spain).
He has written and directed four clown shows; Mud (Metro Arts 2003), Suckers (Harvest Rain Independents 2012), THE BOX (Backbone/Artslink 2013) and Park Cleaners (Backbone/Artslink 2015).
He currently is the Movement and Clown Tutor for the acting degree at The Conservatorium, Griffith University. In 2024 he created a new theatre company, Jesture, to focus on clown, movement, image and text. Jesture produces the popular Brisbane Clown Cabaret. Andrew is the Resident Director at Bluey’s World, an international tourist destination based in Hamilton, Australia.
Laurene Cooper-Fox is a production professional with a background in music theatre and a strong focus on bringing creative ideas to life. She has played a key role in bringing “Rockarena” to the Royal Adelaide Show, as well as the managing the Urban Utilities “Water Warriors” education program.
In 2025, Laurene was Production Manager for the 4MBS Shakespeare Festival and the founder and producer of the 24 Hour Musical Project. She has worked with companies including Wilde Applause, Small Crown Productions, and Vulcana Women’s Circus, and has also served as Entertainment Coordinator for the Sherwood Community Festival.
From juggling touring logistics to designing eye-catching visuals, Laurene’s skillset spans photography, administration and marketing allowing her to support projects from concept through to delivery with a practical, creative approach.
Stefan is playful, charming, witty and highly entertaining…
A creative entertainer for over 26 years hosting and performing for theatre, gala events and festivals throughout Australia and New Zealand, Stefan has created a suite of incredible characters and brings vivacious energy to every performance.
Starting his career in professional Theatre Sports, improvisation and acting before transitioning into character entertainment, theatre, film, television and event MC’ing.
Stefan has developed, workshopped and performed multiple touring schools shows including most recently Active Travel for Brisbane City Council and Water Warriors for Urban Utilities. He works with a variety of companies including DeBase Theatre Company, Wilde Applause, IZIT? Entertainment, Applause Entertainment, TLC, Guru Dudu- Silent Disco, Zest Factor, Something Else Entertainment, Phoenix Entertainment and Commonwealth Games Australia, along with many other companies. Stefan is also a skilled commercial photographer and videographer.
A Brisbane-born creative with over 30 years of experience, Daniel is a veteran theatre technician and a pioneer of the city’s independent arts scene. Between 2000 and 2011, he activated landmark spaces as venue manager of The Factory, The Globe Theatre, Old Museum Building, and The Pink Palace, whilst also producing a diverse array of variety shows, live music, and cult cinema events. Daniel’s extensive production management credits include esteemed companies such as Ballet Theatre of Queensland, Musical Theatre Australia, Metro Arts, and Vulcana Women’s Circus. Since 2012, he has served as a lighting technician at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) while regularly touring regional Queensland as a lighting and AV technician-designer for Topology. Through his freelance company, Odyssey Entertainment, Daniel provides essential technical support, equipment hire, and production management to emerging artists, community venues and events such as Wynnum Fringe. In his spare time Dan enjoys writing and performing in his original garage rock and psychedelic pop band, The Stomps.
Returning to one of his formative theatre spaces, Daniel is proud to be a part of the creative team for Brisbane Clown Cabaret!
